MARINE TERMINALS

We are proud to be leaders in the renaissance of barge transportation in the Columbia River system and along the Pacific Coast. As congestion hamstrings truck transportation, and capacity and velocity issues plague the railroads, barging becomes an interesting, and viable, alternative.

Per the USDA Barging Study of 2004, one barge moves the equivalent of 120 rail cars or 480 truckloads of agricultural products. And while barges will never be as fast as rail or truck, add in congestion delays, the difference between the modes of transportation is not that great.

Aligned with our timber and rock business lines, we have a proven record of delivering rock in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area by barge and receiving Canadian timber to source to southern Oregon sawmills. We have loaded out specialty cargoes, provided alongside engineering support services, and have moved oversized equipment.

As a private marine terminal, we do not operate like a public port. Our fee structure is straightforward with no hidden charges or compounding fees. We will inform you upfront of the costs. You are free to engage stevedoring services of your choice for the on-barge work. Our skilled team provides shore side services or the assistance your team may need. Our motto is to keep it simple, and we strive to do so.

When you think about it, barging presents some interesting possibilities. Our marine terminals are strategically located close to rail and highway connections. Teevin Bros Land & Timber Co. operates marine terminals in Westport, Oregon and Rainier, Oregon.

Teevin Terminal ~ Rainier, Oregon

A true intermodal connection point, Teevin Terminal combines a 400' wharf and mooring system, with two private rail spurs, and Interstate-5 highway access.

Located off I-5, exit 36, the terminal connects easily to north/south traffic to Seattle/Tacoma and Portland/Eugene; or eastbound to I-84.

Served by the Portland & Western Railroad off a BNSF heritage line, two private spurs (1300' and 1000') provide flexibility in moving between water and rail.

The barge dock has a 206' face, with mooring dolphins up and down stream, designed for a 400' barge. Dock height at MLLW is just 16 feet, water depth alongside at MLLW is 22'. The upland area surrounding the dock is open and paved, providing you the widest latitude in handling your cargo.

This facility is ideal for moving timber, lumber, construction products, specialty cargoes, and other products coast wise, off-shore, and within the Columbia River system.

Teevin Terminal ~ Westport, Oregon

Close to our Bradley Quarry, our Westport terminal is a great location to load rock onto barge, and onto rail. Located at the elbow of the Westport Slough, less than 1000 yards from the Columbia River, this 18-acre site connects barge, rail, and US Highway 30.

The barge facility consists of mooring dolphins and a finger pier, perfect for aggregate handling - but also adequate for other material handling operations. Within a quick shuttle move, products can move from the barge for direct loading onto Portland & Western Railroad cars.

The terminal connects to US Highway 30, midway between the Rainier-Longview bridge and Astoria.
