Friends of Dibblee Point invites community volunteers to participate in SOLV's annual "Down by the Riverside" event on Saturday, May 20th at Dibblee Point Beach in Rainier. Volunteers are needed to spruce up the entrance to the area and pick up litter along the beach. The event will be from 9am to 1pm followed by a free BBQ. SOLV is an Oregon non-profit that helps local volunteer groups organize community enhancement projects. Down by the Riverside is SOLV's largest statewide event. Teevin Brothers Rainier Terminal, located adjacent to Dibblee Point Beach in Rainier, has recently graded all the public access roads at Dibblee Beach as a public service in preparation of Friends of Dibblee Point's annual spring beach cleanup. "The public access roads are heavily used and were in very rough condition, now beach goers will have a pot-hole free experience, it is a real gift to the community" said Lori Baker. |
