RAIL SERVICE
Teevin Bros Land & Timber Co. has championed the return of moving logs by rail. From a small demonstration project in 2000, railing logs has taken off. In 2005, over 8800 rail cars of logs were moved from or to our Rainier Terminal; and the forecast is for even more logs to come off of trucks and move to the sawmills by rail.

The same renaissance in railing is occurring in the rock and quarry industry, with Teevin's Westport Terminal loading rock for railroad ballast, construction projects, and emergency levee repairs.

RAINIER

We realize that rail access is important to our customers. Having a rail option is critical as fuel prices climb and the road system becomes congested. Our Rainier Terminal offers two private railroad spurs for your use.

  • A 1300' spur, flat, level, ideal for materials that can be loaded/unloaded from one side. This spur can spot up to twenty log cars each switch. This spur can be switched twice each day.
  • A 1000' spur, flat, level, and designed for all commodities. Accessible from both sides, with a hard running deck, this spur can handle it all. This spur can spot 12 boxcars or flat cars each switch, and it too is switched twice each day.

With the outstanding location on the Columbia River, close proximity to interstate freeways, and rail access; our Rainier Terminal is a true multimodal facility.

EUGENE

Located just of old Highway 99 and the Beltline Highway, the Teevin Yard Eugene offers a 500-foot spur, flat, level, and fully paved, to move your products. This spur connects to the Portland & Western Railroad. From this location, shippers can reach all railroads interconnecting with the Portland & Western Railroad; further, customers can move from Eugene to any other location on the Portland & Western Railroad, staying exclusively on the shortline. Our customers boast rail rates that are far below trucking rates per ton of cargo moved, when the move stays on the shortline.

WESTPORT

While our Westport Terminal rail connection is not as elaborate, it serves its purpose to also connect truck, barge and rail.
